San Antonio Artist Mark Rue to Display works at Art Expressions
This February and March, Art Expressions Gallery in the Eau Gallie Arts District of Melbourne will host "Magnification" - an exhibit of original works by San Antonio, Texas artist, Mark Rue.
The show pays homage to Mother Mature by taking an extremely close look at the designs of small creatures. Though primarily known for his magnified, bold, vibrant images of sea life, Rue also takes a look at some of nature's other anatomical wonders. It is a collection of acrylic and mixed media paintings on both canvas and paper.
"This series focuses on nature's incredible designs by magnifying the lines, colors and textures. Though they usually come off as abstract paintings, they are actually realistic. I want people to see these marvelous creatures in a new way and hope they will sense my joy and fascination in the work", said Rue.
"Magnification" will open on Friday, February 1st, from 5:30pm to 8:30pm. Please join the artist for light refreshments and conversation. At the opening, you may register to win a limited edition giclee print by Rue, titled "Lemonpeel", and custom framed by Art Expressions/ The show will be on display through the end of March.
